Hello Daring Greatly music lovers! It’s been a while since we last posted a public update, but there is no shortage of news to catch you up on as we mke our way through the quarter point of 2022.
So, let’s get right to it.
You've seen new faces emerge over the past year as the Daring Greatly Band (DGB ) refines our tight-knit pack of musicians. The brothers Liam (25 y/o) and Patrick Croome (27 y/o) continue to lead vocals with well-written songs and conceptualize the beautiful melodies for which DGB is known. Brayden Tario (soon to be 28 y/o) has stepped into a more prominent role singing more harmonies and owning the reigns on the skins. Brayden continues to manage the bands' expenses and bookings while also maintaining a strong social media presence for the band. David Mills (32 y/o), from Lake Elsinore, California, has been with the band for over two years. David has established himself as the bands dynamic lead electric guitar player. He is a true craftsman for tone and sound and has owned his skills as an audio engineer, mixing the band's upcoming album, "Gird Valley" (To be released on March 6, 2022). Last, and most certainly not least, is our newest addition, Matt Spatol (29 y/o). Matt was brought in from Wisconsin to play bass last fall and has quickly adapted to the California lifestyle with the band. Matt has already been actively writing and producing new music with the band. The talented multi-instrumentalist has expanded our live performance and recording capabilities with his exceptional experience touring internationally with other musicians throughout his career
A NEW KIND OF HIGH
As the band chemistry undergoes a change of elements, there is no doubt that there is a sense of curiosity among fans to see how things will shape up in 2022. There is one thing that is for certain, this line-up of musicians is incredibly talented. We know there are many people who haven’t seen a live Daring Greatly show in years, and we are so excited to reconnect and experience all of this with you. It will truly feel like ‘a new kind of high.’ The band is actively working on the schedule for our live shows to get back to those towns or cities. We are eager to share our music to more and more people.
THE ROAD MAP FOR 2022
Our new record, “Gird Valley” comes out on Sunday March 6. The record release party will be held on the same day at the Belly Up in Solana Beach, California. This will be our 4th independent release—each song was produced, recorded and distributed by ourselves. Thanks to the monthly earnings from Patreon since August 2020, we were able to spend more time creating and less time worrying about the harrowing bills and payments. We are extremely proud of the work we produced during this time.
The band has also been nominated for the San Diego Music Awards Best Rock Artist. Our nomination is secure, but your votes for Daring Greatly will help us land the award. And we need your help in rallying votes to help us secure this prestigious recognition in the San Diego music community. Public voting is open until March 15 at 5pm. The 31st Annual San Diego Music Awards will be at Humphreys Concerts by the Bay on Tuesday, April 19.
